CYJP at National Rally to Stop Iran

On Monday, September 22nd 2008, the Council of Young Jewish Presidents joined thousands of people in a rally calling upon the United Nations and leaders around the world to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power. Among the speakers were leaders from the Asian, Hispanic and Muslim communities in NY along with Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel, Speaker of the Knesset Dalia Itzik, former prisoner of Zion and former Minister in the Israeli government, Natan Sharansky who was introduced by CYJP's founder David Borowich, together with Council members, Daniel Kraus, Elisa Iteld and Jason Schwalbe.

The Council of Young Jewish Presidents took upon itself the task of mobilizing thousands to attend the rally. One of our initiatives was a street marketing campaign, distributing in excess of 50,000 postcards at key locations throughout Manhattan.

Among the messages directed at world leaders to stop Ahmadinejad was a direct plea to the people of Iran. David Borowich, Chairman of the Council of Young Jewish Presidents, first spoke in Pharsi and then in English, saying we support your aspirations for freedom, for democracy and to live in peace. Join us in our quest for peace rather than go down a path of destruction and warraise your voices and fight for peace!"
